Frankfurt
Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Frankfurt area.

Frankfurt was founded in medieval times, and is now one of Germany's larger and more contemporary cities. Yet, the city is especially noted for its degree of historic preservation, many examples of which can be found in the Altstadt or Old Town where St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, built in the 1300s, still stands. Goethe's home has been preserved as a museum in this area. The Main River runs through Frankfurt, and the residential areas on one side of the River are connected to downtown by means of the Hauptwache combined subway system and shopping complex. The Stadel Art Museum has a great collection of works by Heironymous Bosch, and the Frankfurt Zoo, a leader in natural habitat housing for animals since 1858, has one of the better walk through aviaries, and is considered one of the best zoos in Europe. For a side trip you will never forget, take one of the steamers on the Rhine River through wine country, from Duesseldorf to Rudesheim, and while you are taking in all of the breathtaking scenery of the Lorelei Valley from your deck chair, enjoy some locally bottled light, white Rheinhessenwein, the local favorite and one of the principal ingredients in Liebfraumilch.
